The Merdeka MRT station is an underground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station located near the Stadium Merdeka, currently being refurbished as part of the Merdeka 118 development. Directly next to Entrance B of the station is Stadium Negara indoor stadium.
The Merdeka 118 is a 118-story, 644-metre megatall skyscraper currently under construction in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is the tallest building under construction as of 2020. When completed, the tower will be tallest building in Malaysia, the tallest building in Southeast Asia and the second-tallest building in the world.
The Merdeka MRT station is on the MRT Sungai Buloh – Kajang Line and was opened on 17 July 2017 under Phase Two operations of the line.

Location of station
The station is located near the Stadium Merdeka, currently being refurbished as part of the KL118 Tower project. Directly next to Entrance B of the station is Stadium Negara indoor stadium.
The station can be accessed via two entrances (Entrance A and Entrance B) located along Jalan Hang Jebat, as well as the paid-to-paid walkway from the Plaza Rakyat LRT station via Entrance C.
The entrance A is located on the north side of Jalan Hang Jebat near the YWCA and Olympic Hotel. It accommodates access to the Olympic Council of Malaysia, YWCA, SJK (C) Jalan Davidson.
The Entrance B is located near Stadium Negara. It accommodates access to Stadium Negara, KL118 and Merdeka Stadium.
The entrance C accommodates the LRT – MRT Linkway.

Connected linkway between MRT and Plaza Rakyat LRT Station
The Merdeka MRT Station is connected to the Plaza Rakyat LRT Station via a paid-to-paid pedestrian walkway.
Initially meant to be only a connecting station, the Merdeka MRT station now serves as an interchange station, with Plaza Rakyat LRT station on the Ampang and Sri Petaling Lines via a paid-to-paid walkway link connecting between both stations.
The linkway is located on the Plaza Rakyat station’s concourse. Passengers are hence not required to purchase separate tickets while interchanging between both MRT and LRT lines.
The linkway between LRT and MRT station is accessed via Entrance C at the Lower Concourse Level of the station.
