The Maluri MRT station is an underground MRT station located on the eastern fringe of Kuala Lumpur near and named after Taman Maluri, a residential housing estate.
Bit by bit, Kuala Lumpur’s Taman Maluri (commonly called Maluri), along with its surrounds, has slowly transformed from an old working class residential area into a new exciting commercial hub with ample lifestyle and local community living elements.
Covering an area of around 2.95 sq km (about 730 acres), Maluri is one of the most prominent suburban locations in KL, sitting at the border of the city centre adjacent to the Pudu and Chan Sow Lin areas.
Maluri’s old dame of retail is the 30-year-old AEON Taman Maluri which has recently been refurbished and expanded. But the newer malls entering Maluri are the main reasons for its renewed vitality.
Sunway Velocity opened its doors end-2016 while IKEA Cheras and the MyTOWN Shopping Centre linked to it opened in November 2015 and March 2017 respectively. NSK Trade City at Jalan Peel also opened early-2018.
The Maluri MRT station is located along Jalan Cheras opposite the AEON-JUSCO Taman Maluri shopping centre.
The MRT station is on the MRT Kajang Line and was opened on 17 July 2017 under Phase Two operations of the line.
The station comprises an elevated LRT station serving the Ampang Line LRT which was opened in 1996, and the underground MRT station of the MRT Kajang Line which was opened on 17 July 2017.
The MRT station is connected to the Maluri LRT station via a paid-area-to-paid-area elevated pedestrian linkway.
The Maluri MRT station has two underground levels – a concourse level with fare gates, customer service office, toilets and machinery rooms – and a platform below with an island platform configuration.

The Maluri MRT station has almost similar layout to Pasar Seni MRT station. The differences are the LRT station is side platform instead of island platform, and there is no extra level for plant room (i.e. B3 in Pasar Seni) for the MRT station.
The integrated station can be accessed via a total of four entrances, with three entrances provide direct access to the MRT station (Entrance A, Entrance B and Entrance D), and the MRT station entrance from / to the linkway to the LRT station is named Entrance C but it only leads to / from the LRT station and does not allow any direct access from outside.
The entrance A is located on the north side of Jalan Cheras. It accommodates access to AEON Taman Maluri and Taman Maluri.
The Entrance B is located on the south side of Jalan Cheras. It accommodates access to Sunway Velocity Shopping Complex, Jalan Lombong, and Jalan Galian.
The entrance C accommodates the LRT – MRT linkway.
The Entrance D is located on the north side of Jalan Cheras.
It accommodates access to Park and Ride, Maluri bus hub, Jalan Cheras bus stop (Kajang-bound), Jalan Jejaka, Wisma PGRM, Jalan Pudu Hulu, and Taman Shamelin Perkasa.
